Over the years, I’ve uncovered so many copywriting tips, tricks, tools, books, guides, courses … you name it. Some of them were very useful, some not so much. The good news is that over the past 15 years I’ve managed to weed out the garbage and laser in on the good stuff. The stuff that will actual teach you something as you embark on your copywriting journey.

Some of these resources are SEO-related, and some are geared toward direct mail copywriting, email marketing, article writing and many other forms of online writing. There are also some great resources to help you find clients, build a freelance business and thrive as an entrepreneur.

Those of you who know me know that I am very transparent. Yes, I receive a small kickback for selling some of these products. Let me be very clear, though — I ONLY promote products I know and trust. This is not an affiliate site where I sell a bunch of crap just to make a buck. I earn a living by providing SEO & Copywriting consulting services. I’ve become successful in doing so because of the help of many of these resources, and that’s why I choose to offer them to you as well — because I believe in their value.

Take a peek around, keep what resonates and toss out the rest.

Bob Bly was my go-to guy when I started my copywriting career back in 1990s. The first book of his I read was “Secrets of a Freelance Writer.” It still sits on my shelf today. The next one I read was “The Online Copywriter’s Handbook.” It, too, sits on my bookshelf. The man is a genius, a legend, named “America’s top copywriter” by McGraw-Hill. If you can’t find something useful in his collection, you may be in the wrong line of work. Here are some of his latest titles:

American Writers & Artists Inc. is another fabulous resource. They offer a bunch of great (and affordable) programs to help copywriters. Some of my faves include:

Karen Thackston offers tremendous value from her years copywriting experience. I’ve personally taken this course and found it really helped me tighten up my short copy.
